Help Portrait

On December 12, 2009 people all over the world got together through a non-profit organization called Help-Portrait. Help-Portrait helps families who are not able to afford Christmas pictures by providing photographers to volunteer to take those pictures. We took their pictures and let them feel like  super models for a day. My photo shoot was of teenage girls from about ages 12 through 16. These girls were from a group home, and although we don't know what they've been through, you could definitely see the walls they've built up. I saw a piece of "myself" in them. I desperately wanted to hold them in my arms and tell them that life wouldn't always be the way it is, or was, and that things would get better. I felt like telling them,"I am living proof of someone who has struggled in life but overcame all the obstacles that were thrown my way."
